I just bought a brand new HP laptop from a reputable dealer but I can't get past the first (defaultuser0) login screen

I've just brought home a new HP laptop. But when I start up for the first time, defaultuser0 appears as the username (with no option to change it) with a password box for that user. I have no idea what password to enter & I can't change the username. It requires entering the correct password to proceed (you can't just hit enter).I have a HP account from a previous device, but that doesn't help me log in under defaultuser0. And I can't change the account or username from the default. I don't have access to any text entry apart from the in the password box. Clicking the Start (Windows) butto
