factory restore - video card driver issues

Hi guys,

 

I recently returned my mesh pc to factory settings and re installed windows XP.

 

however at present my video card (nvidia geforce 5900xt) drivers are not working correctly as when i scroll on web pages the movement is not smooth and the display in general is slightly wrong.

 

I have the original drivers for my video card but upon installation they do not appear on my currently installed programs list in add/remove programs.

 

also there is no reference to VGA or video cards on my device manager.

 

can anyone shed any light on this problem, i have had video card driver issues in the past but have managed to uninstall and update etc with success.

You can get the latest drivers here: Nvidia Website

 

Uninstall all old drivers.

uninstall the old driver manually if they are not on the add or remove -

go to C:/ nvidia and there will be some files with numbers 168.00, 172.00 etc

if there is more than one folder with a number on they are ALL older ones - if you click into the latest one - highest number then there is an uninstall option in their.

 

get NVIDIA clean up utility too and run that - it will get rid of all the older remnants of drivers - reboot and install the latest one ;)
