Guest Carla Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 I was troubleshooting & a window popped up that asked if I wanted to delete any programs that use Windows Uninstaller. Thinking that this would help me with a problem I was having with Java, I deleted Java from the list of programs that Uninstaller recognizes. That did not solve my problem with Java & I would like to "undo" the deletion. I have Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks _ Carla
Guest Newbie Coder Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Re: Deleted progam from list of programs Windows Uninstaller recognize Cala, What were you troubleshooting as you never mentioned it? You can either do a system restore, which I don't recommend or download the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) here: http://www.java.com/en/ -- Newbie Coder (It's just a name) "Carla" <Carla@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C0E8D24B-E4B0-4257-A79B-CF83B5BFBFCB@microsoft.com... > I was troubleshooting & a window popped up that asked if I wanted to delete > any programs that use Windows Uninstaller. Guest Carla Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Re:Deleted progam from list of programs Windows Uninstaller CORRECTION Re:Deleted progam from list of programs Windows Uninstaller CORRECTION Sorry - Java was deleted from the list of programs under Windows Installer Cleanup not "Uninstaller". Java is not working correctly so I am trying to uninstall it. I can't uninstall it as I deleted it from the list of programs, so Java no longer appears on the "Add or Remove Programs" in Control Panel. However, going to the Java website confirms that it's on my system So, I thought I needed to add it back to the list for Installer Cleanup but do not know how to do it. Thank you for any help - Carla "Newbie Coder" wrote: > Cala, > > What were you troubleshooting as you never mentioned it? > > You can either do a system restore, which I don't recommend or download the > latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) here: > > http://www.java.com/en/ > > -- > Newbie Coder > (It's just a name) > "Carla" <Carla@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:C0E8D24B-E4B0-4257-A79B-CF83B5BFBFCB@microsoft.com... > > I was troubleshooting & a window popped up that asked if I wanted to delete > > any programs that use Windows Uninstaller. One of them will be Java, double click that and install/repair. That should bring up the uninstall entry you are looking for. Remove Java and re-instal 1.6.02. Vi
