Guest Eric Crumpton Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Apparently some protion of the telephony service components is damanged on a Windows 2003 server. The telephony service will not start and when you use the telephony snap in, you cannont manage any providers. In fact the providers is greyed out and no providers are listed for the server. If anyone knows a way to restore this service I would appreciate the input. Thanks in advance.

Guest Coraleigh Miller Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Re: How can the telephony service components be manual reinstalled Re: How can the telephony service components be manual reinstalled Hi Harley, Make sure that the services the telephony service depends on are started and set to automatic. If they are and you still have the issue..check in your registry that you have a Tapisrv string entry (and Tapisrv as the data) within HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SvcHost Coraleigh Miller "Harley" <Harley@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:27CD432A-C89D-4532-95AF-597BBA8FBCF9@microsoft.com... > Yes, the following is recorded in the system event log: > > Event Type: Error > Event Source: Service Control Manager > Event Category: None > Event ID: 7001 > Date: 8/31/2007 > Time: 8:18:48 AM > User: N/A > Computer: Goregeous > Description: > The Remote Access Connection Manager service depends on the Telephony > service which failed to start because of the following error: > %%0 > > For more information, see Help and Support Center at > http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. > > "Coraleigh Miller" wrote: > >> Hi Eric, >> >> Do you have any related error codes in your event log? >> >> Coraleigh Miller >> >> "Eric Crumpton" <EricCrumpton@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >> news:AD9EC247-AC49-49E5-B920-FA30BC90E953@microsoft.com... >> > Apparently some protion of the telephony service components is damanged >> > on >> > a >> > Windows 2003 server.
