Can you give us your system specifications please?

 

Eg; how much ram, cpu size etc.

Memory added PC shuts down

 

Have 512 mb installed so after checking with crucial.com added another 512 mb. Had 3 empty slots installed memory is now 1024MB which is the compaicty for my computer. Worked fine for a couple of days but now find PC now shuts down at random any help appreciated

At this point, the most simple and effective troubleshooting step is to simply remove the new ram and see what happens.

You can also try moving the memory to another slot - some MOBO's are very picky about what RAM goes in which slot.

Try it in one of the others and see what happens

Thanks for reply removed the ram and (touch wood) all problems have gone may try it in another slot as you suggest Tks
