Through some automatic update my windows explorer freezes for multiple minutes after starting certain software

I came back from a 3 week vacation and did not actively update anything. Everything worked as usual except a few programs (mostly games like League of Legends or Overwatch 2) that made my windows explorer freeze (or at least thats what I think happens) the second they started up. During this freeze I am not able to start any programs,open new tabs in my browser, use key combinations like CTRL ALT DELETE or shut down my PC . I am able to use already open programs just like usual, delete programs,create new files(like text files) and move my mouse around. If I opened task manager before starting
