Infrared Sensor

My Inspiron 8200 does not see any infra red device when it is in range unless

I start a HotSynch on the device..

Infrared driver is up to date and enabled.

I am now using a Palm T/X Handheld.

It is a new installation, previously had a Tungsten E with which I had no

problem.

Any comments advise would be appreciated.

Sounds like the problem I describe at "Problems with Palm IrDA discovery

alongside XP notebooks"

http://www.alanjmcf.me.uk/comms/infrared/Problems%20with%20Palm%20IrDA%20discovery.html

The Palm is not fast enough in responding to the PC's discovery queries.

The only other workaround is, as I describe there, to buy a USB IrDA

device which will do the queries a bit slower...
