Guest abacus2002 Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 I ran scandisk last night and shut down computer when completed, but left room before windows shut down was complete. Tried to start laptop this morning and received following messages: Principle hard drive not found Fixed optical drive not found Was able to get to set up and changed boot to CD to try to boot from there and received following message: No bootable devices Any ideas on what may have caused this to happen and where to go from here? -- Abacus2002

You need to get into your PC's BIOS setup to find out what's happened to your hard disk. On many PCs you need to press the Delete key on your keyboard to get into the BIOS. If this does not work, check the manual that came with your PC. For further assistance I recommend you post your question in a hardware newsgroup or ask your friendly PC dealer for assistance.
