Guest Ed H Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Hey: After a shutdown or standby my keyboard will not work sometimes. In device manager, the yellow flag is visible. I "uninstall," reboot and it will work again. Never have used a disc for the keyboard, it has always worked off generic drivers (?) Thank you, -- Ed H Dell Dimension 4550, WinXP Home SP2 60 Gig. I would try another keyboard, perhaps a borrowed one from a friend.
Guest Gerry Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Re: keyboard stops working Ed Is the keyboard wireless or wired? Is the problem with all keys are some? Guest Ed H Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Re: keyboard stops working It is a wired (USB) keyboard. All keys are out and there are no lights either. The make? Oh, it's a "DYNEX." Had it over a year, no problem before. -- Ed H Dell Dimension 4550, WinXP Home SP2 60 Gig. HD, 512 DDR, Pentium IV 2.40 GHz. Guest Curt Christianson Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Re: keyboard stops working Hi Ed, Sounds like a flakey USB port. Try a different one if available, and a different USB keyboard to isolate this. -- HTH, Curt Windows Support Center http://www.aumha.org Practically Nerded,... http://dundats.mvps.org/Index.htm "Ed H" <w.whatkey@comcast.net> wrote in message news:e3gfonH3HHA.484@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... | It is a wired (USB) keyboard.
