restore factory settings.

Hi does anyone know if you can restore windows vista back to factory settings.. I have done system restore but vista doesn't seem to hold many dates in its memory for long.

 

I do not have a disc as vista was already installed on the pc when bought it from mail order

When you boot up Wiggy you should see three options and one of them will be the Recovery aspect, when you see that press the key that it asks for, say F10 or F12 etc.

Is that before my password screen comes up and would that affect anything?

 

What exactly will this remove? am I likely to lose my security etc

 

Just a little worried and need to know this is the right thing to be doing I believe I had 2 viruses on pc although as far as aware these are now gone..

 

Also can I just confirm if this is the best option I do not need any form of disc to do this?

Because you did not get a disk when you bought the PC Wiggy the common practice now is to install a Recovery partition on your hard drive.

 

You should get the options to recover and this should not remove any of your programs but will reinstall any damaged operating system files.
