Guest barrowhill Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I use a Webroots's Window Washer to cleanup my PC. Not had any problems. I installed on a friends PC to do the same. She has 5 User accounts and uses Norton 360 IS Suite. I noticed when running Window Washer through each account I never cleared the Recycle bin completely. Having run on all accounts I'm left with 77.8MB still showing. Every time I run it, the account statistics show another 77.8MB recovered -but it (what ever it is) is still there. Can anyone shed some light on how to fix??? I have tried to uninstall, clean registry out and re-install but to no evail

I have tried to uninstall, > clean registry out and re-install but to no evail Look at the settings in Norton 360 for the recycle bin issue. Personally I suggest all Norton home security products be removed. There are other alternatives, some of which are free, that are less resource intensive, less problematic, and do a better job. One other thing. I'm not sure what you mean by clean the registry out, but it's best to avoid using an automated registry cleaner. They generally cause more harm than good. -- Rock [MS-MVP User/Shell]
Guest barrowhill Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Re: Recycle Bin not fully emptying Rock, Couldn't agree with you more. I personally don'y use Symantec/Norton Products for the reason you mention. However, not my PC which Norton 360 was purchased and installed on. I didn't mention Registry only Recycle Bin ??
