Guest J Wolfe Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 When I boot up I get a message that the Media Center Receiver Service has encountered a problem and needs to close. I click the error reporting or don't send block, and the message disappears, but returns about 6 seconds later. This cycle just keeps repeating leaving my computer just about useless. Any suggested repair? I see where others have had the same problem, but don't see a fix listed.
Guest Coraleigh Miller Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Re: Media Center Receiver Service Hi J Wolfe, If this is a Media Center which you use for this purpose, you may have better luck asking the people over at the microsoft.public.windows.mediacenter group. You could try booting in Safe Mode and checking out the event log for related errors/codes, to give us more info. You could also try disabling any 3rd party apps from starting up to pinpoint a possible culprit. Also make sure you are up to date with patches.
