Look on eBay. Even though they aren't supporting it any more, Microsoft still owns the copyright on Win98 and dies not allow free distribution. -- Tim Slattery MS MVP(DTS) Slattery_T@bls.gov http://members.cox.net/slatteryt

Be advised that some brands of laptops require custom drivers (e.g. for the display screen) that you will not find on a generic Win98 CD. Manufacturers' web sites may provide these drivers. -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada)
Guest Dan Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Re: windows 98 It is nice to see that you are still posting here, Tim. I would suggest to make sure and get a valid 98SE full copy that has a valid product key. In addition, make sure the hardware on the laptop you got is not too advanced for 98SE. For example, AFAIK no one has drivers for PCI-Express for 98SE which is the next in line for video cards after AGP. I have to maintain a careful balance between XP Pro. and 98SE which are on 2 seperate hard drives on my computer to maintain the backwards compatibility and the ability to be able to run modern applications except for a few new games of course.
