Guest Dennis Backherms Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 I am experiencing a problem when trying to use DHCP under one profile name. If I log out and back in as another profile, I have no problems acquiring an IP address. When I log out and back in under the problematic user's profile I receive 'Acquiring network address' indefinitely. The wireless card will attach itself to the network but will not assign an IP.

You may experiencing a profile corruption or damaged winsock on that account, try to repair the winsock first : Open a run command and type in: <= in the problematic account!. ipconfig /flushdns click [OK] ipconfig /renew click [OK] netsh winsock reset click [OK] Before rebooting make sure this service started on the services control panel: DHCP Reboot, does it help?. Also before going to the Creation of a new profile try to delete the connection and create another one, does it help?. HTH. nass

I then proceeded to reset the Winsock and it resolved my issue. Thank you to everyone who offered me assistance in this matter.
