Guest abd08 Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Hey all, We have a copy of XP Professional Upgrade w/SP2, along with the product key stuck at the back of the card-like booklet it came in. We have thrown out the box. This leaves me with 2 questions: 1. Can I get another COA? - From what I've read, this doesn't sound possible. 2. Can I sell this copy of XP Professional upgrade with just the product key and "proof of license" thing written at the back? Note, it has never been used! Thanks Raj
Guest R. McCarty Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Re: XP w/Product key but no COA Box ? - If the original product came with a Certificate of Authenticity then it's an OEM version and most times doesn't come in a box. A retail package of Windows XP wouldn't come with a COA label as that's a requirement of OEM install(s) something not done for Retail. You probably need to determine which product type you have, but regardless if it's unused then reselling is possible.
