Any ideas?? Change your BIOS to boot to CD first and boot from your XP disc. From there you can attempt to repair your drive if the issue is software related. If after the repair your PC still won't boot try temporarily moving your drive to another (healthy) PC where it can be chkdsk /r, scanned and backed up. Can't rule out a hardware or virus issue. If it turns out to be only software you may opt to fdisk and format your drive after the backup.
