pop up alarm clock for/included in windows XP?

I need some kind of alarm to remind me of a couple of things before I

leave work and have to go catch the bus.

Does XP come with something like that or can someone recommend some

spyware-free freeware?

A Google search (which is free and can be done by anyone, revealed many

options)

Here's Microsoft's offering.

Thank you. I just thought someone would be able to recommend

something based on their experience.

Scheduled Tasks comes to mind, see Help and Support.

Do you use MS Outlook at work? You could use that to show popup reminders.

"Alarm" v2.06 by Paul Scott or "ThroughClock" v.1.78 by Hamataro both work

well. They are older apps and newer versions may not be available or

supported anymore.

That looks promising...I'd prefer not to download something.

Can Scheduled Tasks open a document at the set time? Or will it just

run a program?? I set it up and my Notepad doc didn't open.

I'll have to try again.

I would use my own watch! Just set an alarm at a particular time and

done!!! Using a company computer for these things is not wise

especially when you have to install 3rd party software!! what will you

do if your computer crashes just before it was suppose to alert you of

your bus time? It happens according to SODS LAW!!

I just tested it and a notepad file works like a charm here. Open

advanced, check the settings, and also make sure the task is enabled.

Set your computer to shut down daily at the time you need to leave to catch

your bus.

Post-It Notes.

Simple. Easy. Doesn't even require a computer.

RE: pop up alarm clock for/included in windows XP?

If you have Outlook, you can use the calendar or schedule function to enter

whatever you want to do at the time and set the reminder or alert function to

pop up whenever. It also has a snooze function that lets you set the time

when you want to be reminded again.

Pretty simple and it's built in.

Good luck
