Changing this setting by a registry hack is inappropriate - OE has its own menu item to do this. Best to ask the experts in an OE newsgroup!

A google search on how to change the default location of the ADDRESS BOOK turns up the registry edit.

The behaviour you describe would occur if some other agent changes the registry back to its original value. You can try this confirm my suspicon: 1. Boot into Safe Mode. 2. Make the registry change, then close the registry editor. 3. Do not activate any other programs. 4. Open regedit again and check your change. 5. Reboot, then check your change once more.
