usbprint.sys needed

When installing software for a hp c6100 all-in-one printer the installation

stops with the message "usbprint.sys needed". I cannot find the file

anywhere. It is supposed to be part of the Service Pack 2 for Windows XP.

My system configuration tells me that is what I am running. Hp says it's a

microsoft problem, and microsoft puts me off to the computer manufacurer

(Gateway), and they haven't been of much help either. Any ideas???

Is 6100 correct?

How old is your Gateway computer? Did they provide you with a Windows XP

CD? If yes is the CD pre or post SP2?

Hope this helps.

Re: usbprint.sys needed

Thanks Gerry. HP Tech Support had me download the software from their

website when I first talked to them about the problem. Installation halted

at the same spot as the software installation from CD.
