Zip Password Recovery

I used WinRAR to lock a couple of files in the .zip format and I forgot their passwords. I am pretty sure the passwords are the same but I just cant remember it. Are there any good, free, tried softwares that I could use to recover my password? I saw a few online but I was not sure which was the best, and approximately how long will the password recovery take. I'm not sure if it has only letters or numbers as well.

 

Any help will be greatly appreciated. I desperately need to unlock those files.

The thing is Crickmaster that we cannot be absolutely certain that the files in question belong to you.

There is no way to prove that the files belong to yours as we cannot verify the legitimacy of your condition. This is clearly stated in our rules (rule 5). Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

O well..but can I atleast know if there are any programs that might just give u the first letter of the password. cause if the file really is mine atleast i can remember the password from the first letter...but my mind is completely blank. if this still violates the rules then its ok, i understand, but i'm really desperate to get my files back...

There are plenty of programs out there that will offer this information Crickmaster but FPCH cannot advise on any viable url's.

As Wolfey mentioned, there are plenty of programs which use brute force methods to crack and breakdown passwords. But as we cannot verify the legitimacy of your condition, we cannot advise you or link you to these programs. We are very sorry for that.

 

On another note, you can try and remember your password or use one of the above programs to recover them. As we cannot help you with the latter option, here are some tips that might help you in remembering back your password.
