Guest Gis Bun Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 As it's not (hopefully) required, how do I completely remove Removing Windows Media Player from a Server from a server installation? It's not in the Add/Remove Components? [And why is WMP installed anyway on a server? It shouldn't be required and it has had almost as much security issues as IE!] Thanks Gis
Guest Brad Rutkowski Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 RE: Removing Windows Media Player from a Server Tried this? If you click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs, click the Windows Setup tab, click Multimedia, and then click Details, there is a Media Player check box for adding or removing Media Player. -- This post is provided as-is and is my opinion, check the facts before doing anything in production. http://blogs.technet.com/brad_rutkowski "Gis Bun" wrote: > As it's not (hopefully) required, how do I completely remove Removing Windows > Media Player from a Server from a server installation? Guest Gis Bun Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 RE: Removing Windows Media Player from a Server First I'm not to thrilled about your tone. Second. there is no Windows Setup tab. Just Change/Remove, Add and Windows components. > Tried this? > > If you click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, double-click > Add/Remove Programs, click the Windows Setup tab, click Multimedia, and then > click Details, there is a Media Player check box for adding or removing Media > Player. > > -- > This post is provided as-is and is my opinion, check the facts before doing > anything in production. > > http://blogs.technet.com/brad_rutkowski > > > "Gis Bun" wrote: > > > As it's not (hopefully) required, how do I completely remove Removing Windows > > Media Player from a Server from a server installation?
