This morning (here in UK) my PC running on XP SP2 said updates were ready to

install and recommended I should install them which I did. On reboot I

started getting lots errors and problems.

I have managed to start in safe Mode and restore to system status as of 2

days ago (13 August), on restart (now working ok) the following report was

generated and may give a clue as to what caused error? These files were

affected:

msxml3.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32

explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\

iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer

advpack.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32

mshtmld.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32

url.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32

urlmon.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32

webcheck.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32

wininet.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32

Maybe my PC now running without latest updates? Be grateful for any advice.

Thanks

Philip

After doing the latest updates I had a few more Explorer.exe's in my windows

folder, and windows explorer attempted to access the internet. After system

restore on my end I got the same messages. If you read the update details it

says stuff about most of those programs, but if you get tons of errors and

stuff then I have no idea why. I'm not going to system restore now, looks

like my problems with explorer.exe is part of the update. EXPLORER.EXE turns

to explorer.exe right after the update. Very strange.
