It's probably software for an all-in-one printer. HPs in particular are prone to this. Don't keep canceling it; just put in your printer installation CD, let the installer find what it is looking for, and the problem will be over. Guest Bob I Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Re: installer prob at boot up Perhaps letting it finish the install and then it will stop. Of course with you having run a registry cleaner, who knows what registry keys are missing now. Be prepared to do a repair install. roger wrote: > when i start pc up,as window appears with the icons on,i now get an annoying > box stating windows installer then changes to windows confiquring fax, loads > in then says insert disc, normally i dont let it get to that stage i cancel it > but have to do this 3 times before it goes away-ive tried registry cleaners > and the like but to no avail,it keeps appearing at start up,how can i get rid > of it and what is it,many thanks, > roger.
