Guest Mike Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 I was wonder what is the best configuration under Performance Options-Advanced for Processor Scheduling and Memory Usage. Our terminal server is used to host a single application that has database connectivity. Thanks!
Guest Vera Noest [MVP] Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Re: Advanced Performance Options From http://ts.veranoest.net/ts_faq_installation.htm#performance_tuning Q: Should I configure the server to optimize for applications or background processes? A: Use the default settings, which are to optimize the Terminal Server for applications, not for background processes. Running users' application is its main task, after all. The only reason to optimize for background processes would be if the server also runs Exchange or SQL Server. But that's not a good idea in the first place. _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net ___ please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email ___ =?Utf-8?B?TWlrZQ==?= <Mike@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote on 15 aug 2007 in microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services: > I was wonder what is the best configuration under Performance > Options-Advanced for Processor Scheduling and Memory Usage. > > Our terminal server is used to host a single application that > has database connectivity. > > Thanks!
Guest Mike Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Re: Advanced Performance Options Thank you. What about the "Memory Usage" option? Guest Vera Noest [MVP] Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Re: Advanced Performance Options The same. Default = optimize for applications. _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net ___ please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email ___ =?Utf-8?B?TWlrZQ==?= <Mike@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote on 15 aug 2007 in microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services: > Thank you. > > What about the "Memory Usage" option? > > "Vera Noest [MVP]" wrote: > >> From >> http://ts.veranoest.net/ts_faq_installation.htm#performance_tuni >> ng >> >> Q: Should I configure the server to optimize for applications >> or background processes? >> >> A: Use the default settings, which are to optimize the Terminal >> Server for applications, not for background processes.
