unable to complete windows 11 22H2 setup

I am trying to perform a repair install of windows 11 22h2, but windows setup keeps ending prematurely during the installation process (after all the user dialogs) and showing a "windows setup has failed" message. there is no error code or anything to figure out the cause of the issue. I am not sure how to proceed. guidance is requested.
