controlling the sound

Im not sure if im posting this in the right forum, and if im in the wrong then can someone point me to the cortect forum thanks.

 

On my Vista machine there is a program that allows me to control my sound/volume seperatly. so if i have itunes and internet running i can kill the volume on the internet and desktop sound but keep itunes volume full. Not sure if anyone know what im on about, is hard to explain. Anyway on my XP maxhine id like to install a program that will allow me to kill the internet volume, desktop and other program that produces sound and just keep itunes volume playing

You can drop the windows sounds - ie the clicks etc - but I know of no software that can let you mute one set of music and then control another unless its a game
