luckda Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 I have just bought a HD camcorder. I will be copying the footage to the PC and will then burn to DVD. My current DVD burner is about 3 years old. The footage will be HD and I will want to transfer the output from the PC to a Blue ray disk so that I can watch this on a HD TV through a blue ray player. Question is do I need a special DVD writer (hardware/software)to be able to write to a blue ray disk. I have read about red and blue lasers for DBD and Blue ray so I suspect that I need a new writer Quote
Dalo Harkin Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 (edited) Yes you do need a Blue Ray Burner. They are not cheap though, you are looking £80+ for one  The disks themselves are also very expensive:- 25GB disks are between £7 - £10 50GB disks are between £20 - £30 Edited July 30, 2008 by Dalo Harkin Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
