Bowler Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Seth, It started to remvoe ie7 andthen I had a box come up with Setup cannot copy the file mhhapi.dll.mui. Ensure that the location specified below is correct, or change and insert windows NT service pack uninstall directory in the drive you specify. Then I have two options C:\windows.0ie7 or A:\ Then another box comes up with " do you want to continue without copying this file.I pressed yes and I got the progress bar with the two folders with the paper flying from one to the other. The progress bar has finished, but the folders are still going. It says files deleted with a tick and it is now copying files. Does this take a long time Quote
Seth Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Give it a while longer then see if you still have IE7 and can get to internet options. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. Register here If Free PC Help has helped you then please consider a donation. Click here
Bowler Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Still going and ther's no way of stopping it as the back, next and cancel buttons are greyed out. The progress bar has been in the completed for ages. Quote
Seth Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Wow. Your IE7 is really messed up. Do a Ctrl-Alt-Del to enter Task Manager. You'll see Iexplore in the processes, and or Internet Uninstall in the Applications tab. End those processes and restart the computer. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Bowler Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 (edited) If I've got Firefox now, do I need ie7 By the way, the internet option icon is still not working Edited July 31, 2008 by Bowler Quote
Seth Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 It wasn't going to be long before I suggested giving up on IE and going with FF, as you don't have any more relevant options. With that being said, most techs prefer FF. There may be a rare site that requires IE, but so far I haven't seen any. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. Bowler Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 So is your recomendation not to install ie7 and update to sp3? Quote
Seth Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Go ahead and try to install IE7. As far as SP3 goes, you might want to start a new thread on the subject to hear the various opinions.
