The base question is Rez, what's your budget and what machine are you gonna pop it in to?

Dalo will ask similar questions later when he gets on line.

Well my buget is not so much of an issue. Im just not sure if a gpu is "better" than cpu and g card. Or if i have missunderstood the concept. The pc will be used for high end graphic games like cysis.

A CPU is a Central Processing Unit

A GPU is a Graphics Processing Unit

and a G card is the same as a GPU Rez, in other words a graphics card.

Please do not think that I wish to insult your intelligence but other members may be confused as to different types of wording.

ahhhh so a gpu is the same as g card. lol i got a little mixed up. Well a lot mixed up :). Its just confusing when one website says gpu and one says graphics card. I just made the assumption that there was a difference.

In future dont worry about offending me its not a easy task :)

Ok in terms of Graphics cards the fastest card available at the moment is the 280GTX BUT it is very expensive and will only give you the experience in crysis you are after if your resolution is above 1680x1050 which is the native resolution of a 20-22" monitor.

So depending on the size of the monitor you will be able to save alot of cash if you are planning at gaming at a maximum of 1680x1050.

As for the CPU it all depends on whether you are basing your build on a 1066Mhz setup or a 1333Mhz setup - (these are the speeds at which the CPU runs at and you must have a Motherboard capable of matching that speed)

Any problems give me a shout ;)
