svchost.exe sucks processes when firefox is on

When I try to use firefox, svchost.exe makes my pc slowdown or even freezes

or hangs.

Firefox uses low memory but the pc hangs or freezes. This has been happening

since I installed an update to my addon on firefox.

When I use IE in the pc, my pc became stable even in multi-tabbing though IE

uses more memory.

Is Firefox or svchost.exe or some other programs responsible for this?

Note: I use IE 6
