Computer types Backward slash (\) continously

I have a Dell XPS 15 laptop with Windows 11. I recently used it at a public wifi (Hotel where i stayed). All of a sudden , my system keeps typing \\\\... continously, stops at a certain point and types again. This happens at all text entry fields including urls. I ran my McAfee anti-virus scan, malwarebytes anti malware scan and windows defender scan to no avail. Any clues? Please help. Thank you! Note: My computer initially came with Windows 10 installed , and I installed Windows 11 when it got released, although it said system requirements not met.
