Guest Wolfeymole Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Today I was having a quiet pint in my local as is my bent when I was alerted to the raucous sound of a bunch of teenage girls with prams wishing to consume copious quantities of alcohol. I saw one lass that had a pint of lager in one hand, a feeding bottle in the other, her head was tilted to one side while she answered her mobile phone crooked into her neck and was vainly attempting to steer the pram with her foot. A professional juggler would not have held a candle to her. What a sorry state of affairs some young women have descended to. :( Quote

Guest Wolfeymole Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Yes but pubs should be for adults only not a boat load of women with snappers. Even grannys drink pints now, it's quite outrageous mate. Randy tells me the same is happening in America with these "Sports Bars" apparently. Quote
Seth Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I think it's even worse over here mate. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. Register here If Free PC Help has helped you then please consider a donation. Click here
Dalo Harkin Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 (edited) Lol at the grannies comment - I do agree that it's a sad state of affiars - I once saw a couple in their early twenties in a pub with their kid in a pushchair (must have only been 1 or 2 years old) and they were both wasted and the baby was screaming to high heaven - I am in that age bracket and I have kids and would never dream of doing that to my child. They should be ashamed of themselves Edited August 1, 2008 by Dalo Harkin Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.

Randy tells me the same is happening in America with these "Sports Bars" apparently. Pubs are for everybody, not just male ****pots.I don't condone these Mothers behaviour. But it is no different to a Male drunk swearing, and ****ed out of his brain,or Young louts, who have had too much to drink, cursing loudly, brawling and smashing everthing in sight.Better get used to it.We either have to tolerate it, or drink at home. You have an option. There is no such thing, as a perfect World,Wolfey.:) EDIT. Here in OZ,the Pubs have a seperate area for Families.Known as the Beer Garden.Tables and chairs, and a Waiter looks after them. There is no need for Mothers, to even come into the main Bar area.Works quite well. Guest Wolfeymole Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 We have beer gardens here too dougie and everyone has to use them seeing as no one can smoke inside any more thanks to this miserable government. You missed my point that I was making about young women dragging a boat load of snotty yelling babies and very young kids into a pub environment. I just happen to think that's not the place for bairns. Quote
DSTM Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Most of our Pubs are in financial trouble, partly due to Patrons not being allowed to smoke at the Bar.They have lost many regulars. They now have Poker Machines to try and make up the shortfall, and draw Customers Back. The original atmosphere is long gone, thanks to our Governments stupid Laws. No I didn't miss your point,at all.If you was stuck in a house full of screaming Kids all the week, you would feel like getting out, and mixing with friends. The same as you look forward to getting out of the house. There are allways a percentage, who don't behave themselves, anywhere.:) Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
Guest Wolfeymole Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 The pub trade is on it's arse here too dougie but there's always been bandits present to play even though I don't touch them these days as they are far too complicated and the jackpot at £35 is peanuts compared to a Working Mens Club machine. When a bloke has done a days work he should be able to have a jar in peace is all I say and not be surrounded by a load of lager swilling single mothers who seem to have no moral responsibilities whatsoever. That part I agree with you.Say from 4pm here onwards,Mothers would be best at home getting an evening meal for their Kids,Defactos,Husbands.IMO no place for kids, and Mothers at a Pub, at knock off time, and so late in the Day.During the day is a different story.Just my thoughts.:) Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
Guest Wolfeymole Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 By law here kids have to vacate licensed premises by 21:00, 9 O'Clock at night for Gods sake, they should be in bed. We are on a downward spiral into moral decline at all levels mate. Quote
Mara Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Here in British Columbia, Canada, we have laws that forbid anyone underage from entering a Pub, etc. The only place children can be taken where one drinks is a licensed restaurant, luckily. At the risk of getting 'boos and hisses' (gentle smile), while I find a drunk guy repugnant, there's something about a mom dragging kids into a place where she's drinking that seems even more ugh - wrong, wrong, wrong. After all, if one can't legally drive a car after 2 drinks (sometimes one, depending on the person doing the drinking), is mommy going to be able to respond instantly should baby have a problem or a toddler dart into the street, etc. Wee ones are an awesome responsibility. Guest Wolfeymole Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 You got it one there Mara, I don't mind if the girlies just wanna have fun but leave the kids with someone responsible. Quote

Seth Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 The terms I used were not meant to offend anyone. I was just referring to what these kids call each other. I hear it all the time when I pick up my daughter at school. I'm personally disgusted at those types of terms and how these kids act. You know something is wrong with society when you have to have metal detectors and police in school. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. help4me Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 You know something is wrong with society when you have to have metal detectors and police in school. And even with all that it's still not enough to keep our kids safe. Without parental guidance, police and metal detectors won't do any good. One time my dad took my two girls for the day to spend some "grandpa" time with them. He took them to a dingy dive of a bar for dinner. Granted he didn't drink, he only went there because they served turkey fries (google it if you don't know what turkey fries are :p ) and they sat in the section that had tables... but when I found out about it... I nearly knocked him into next week. Bars....even sports bars... are for grown ups. Turkey Fries  I suppose everyone has heard of Rocky Mountain Oysters or Mountain Oysters or Calf Fries or Turkey Fries. These are the testicles of cattle, hogs, sheep and even turkeys. At the spring roundups on the prairies of Texas, the bull calves are treated to a simple operation that prevents them from ever being fathers. After this surgery, they are known as steers. In the old days, the testicles were thrown in the fire used for heating the branding irons until they were done (the testicles -- not the branding irons). Then they were skinned and eaten as is. I think I'd knock him out too Bonnie if he took my daughters to eat something like that. Quote
