Although it's almost impossible to get any real information on the web about AOL and their software, that includes AOL support itself, it seems it might have the emoticon option in the mail. I have no intention of ever installing AOL or using any of their products like email so I can't personally check this out. I also have not been able to find anything on it using AOL support. That's not surprising. Try the mail settings or preferences. Where in there it might be I have no idea. You could try and see if the Rich Text Format option might help. Also if you are paying AOL to use their proprietary software contact them directly for help. It's hard to troubleshoot AOL problems as they live in a world all their own outside main computing.
