system idle process. cpu = 99 ?

hi, in task manager on the processes tab my system idle process is showing 99

on the cpu column all the time, occasionally it will drop to 96 ish. is that

cpu usage and if so is this right? i have a dell laptop with xp pro sp2 and

all updates. thanks, matt320

"Idle" means that your CPU is just sitting around. Equals 100% minus current

CPU usage.

"System Idle Process" is not any problem at all. That's just the name

for what the system is doing when it's not doing anything. It's there

to make the total add up to 100%
