Two reoccuring Events, 1058 and 1030

These are in the Applications log, and repeat over and over.

 

First:

 

Event Type: Error

Event Source: Userenv

Event Category: None

Event ID: 1058

Date: 8/17/2007

Time: 7:45:05 AM

User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM

Computer: SERVER

Description:

Windows cannot access the file gpt.ini for GPO

CN={31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9},CN=Policies,CN=System,DC=IDS,DC=local.

The file must be present at the location

<\\IDS.local\sysvol\IDS.local\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\gpt.ini>.

(Access is denied. ). Group Policy processing aborted.

Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. Check the event

log for possible messages previously logged by the policy engine that

describes the reason for this.

 

I can confirm that the gpt.ini file is there.

Try logging onto a computer with the user that experiences the issues,

then open \\ids.local\sysvol and see if you can browse to the path and

try opening the gpt.ini.

 

If it doesn't work try the same, but then instead of \\domainname, use

\\server\sysvol where server is the name of one of your domain controllers.
