Guest Opie Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Hello, I uploaded some sotfware that has turned off the sleep and hibernate mode of my computer. Its no a power options problem. The sleep button on the turn off window is greyed out. I don't want to wipe the hard drive b/c it will take two days to upload all my software etc. and I tryed the re-install/repair XP options under the add/remove software with no luck. anyone have a clue how to repair that registry file. Thanks Here are some steps go through them and see: 1.. Click Start >> control panel >> Performance & Maintenance >> double click System Icon. 2.. Click on Hardware Tab then Device Manager Button. 3.. Under the list of device drivers expand the plus [+] to became [-] for the Computer driver (s) to view the driver (s) tree. 4.. Your computer driver might have the following driver " ACPI Multiprocessor PC " 5..Right click on it to open the properties for the driver and select from the list Update driver. 6..After finishing the driver update you will be prompted to Restart please do so and you may need to reboot twice or three time for the changes to take affects.
