Hello,

I uploaded some sotfware that has turned off the sleep and hibernate mode of

my computer. Its no a power options problem. The sleep button on the turn off

window is greyed out. I don't want to wipe the hard drive b/c it will take

two days to upload all my software etc. and I tryed the re-install/repair XP

options under the add/remove software with no luck. anyone have a clue how to

repair that registry file. Thanks

Here are some steps go through them and see:

1.. Click Start >> control panel >> Performance & Maintenance >> double

click System Icon.

2.. Click on Hardware Tab then Device Manager Button.

3.. Under the list of device drivers expand the plus [+] to became [-] for

the Computer driver (s) to view the driver (s) tree.

4.. Your computer driver might have the following driver " ACPI

Multiprocessor PC "

5..Right click on it to open the properties for the driver and select from

the list Update driver.

6..After finishing the driver update you will be prompted to Restart please

do so and you may need to reboot twice or three time for the changes to take

affects.

Perform a System Restore back to the point before you installed the

software.
