Add/Remove Windows Components runs amuck

When trying to access Add/Remove Windows Components the Wizard loads, but it

doesn't allow me to make any changes. It just loads, runs through the routine

of making changes (which I have not had to opportunity to make) and completes

the routine only giving me the option to click "Finish".

Is there a Sysoc.inf tweak that I can make to get it to behave properly?

Thanks much.

Saywut,

Try the SET PROGRAM ACCESS & DEFAULTS tool

Location:

%SystemRoot%\system32\control.exe appwiz.cpl @0,3

You can create a new shortcut with that path above if you cannot find the

Windows shortcut

Coder,

I am not sure of what you are suggesting with Set Program Access & Defaults.

It does not give me the options to do what I want to do (get rid of games,

etc.). Accessing the Add/Remove Windows Components from

%SystemRoot%\system32\control.exe appwiz.cpl @0,3 results in the same

behavior as posted below.

The Windows Components Wizard opens directly to "Completing the Windows Components Wizard" screen in Windows XP:
