Hi guys

Getting a harddrive has no space message on my laptop it has two 17gb drives and second one's empty, why doesn't it take any files ?

It will be one drive that is partitioned to appear as two and the second will have your recovery partition on ;)

Are you running XP or Vista Quaytec?

 

Either which way, 17GB is way too large for a Recovery partition.

 

Tell us what it says in Disk Management if running XP like in the pic below.

If you need more space in your existing one then go to add or remove programs in the control panel and get rid of any unwanted programs mainly games etc as they are 2GB+ each.

and run the Hard drive cleanup by right clciking the drive in my computer and selecting properties and then the tools tab.

The pqsevice is the recovery partition.

 

You can try and copy music and pictures to the D: drive to make some space on c:

The Acer data one looks like what you get on a ''tools and utilities'' CDROM

normally programs like DVD/CD software etc and thats probably the 4% used figure.

I think that they intended you to use this side for storing larger files etc.

Ok guys done that all fine now.

Seems a bit crappy to me that it don't just use the second drive once the first ones full but who am i to complain these eggheads know best. ;)
