I install a DVD Player and when I play a DVD movie, I can see the pictures but there is no sound coming out of the system. However, when I insert an audio CD, there is sound . (and there is also sound if the audio CD is play using the default MP in the win 98) . May I know what is missing here. Thanks

Guest mae Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Re: DVD plaer no sound This taken from the guide (available for download on same page) Download installation package from the official site. Install the package. (right click and select "run" or double click) After that filter will appear in the installed programs list of the Control Panel. Uninstall filter from the Control Panel. Filter will be deleted from the system. System setup: This section describes one-time settings, which should be made after the filter installation. After installation filter has already all settings and in general, it does not require any additional settings. Therefore, if you are not familiar with it, do not make any changes. It is recommended to modify settings only if there are some problems with sound. The most compatible operation mode is 16-bit stereo mode (not multi-channel), which is the default filter operating mode. This mode is compatible with all Windows versions and all audio cards. There is no need for additional settings to operate in this mode. If it does not work with your DVD player, you could try this free alternate: Media Player Classic http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Media_Player_Classic.htm for Win9x-ME: http://www.free-codecs.com/download_soft.php?d=3108&s=134 or from: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_players/media_player_classic_for_win98_me.cfm -- mae "alexxchris" <alexxchris@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:8DFF224D-6D53-4DF8-867C-EE20B46E8BE2@microsoft.com... |J ust checking from the link I need to download the AC3 filter 1.46 installer | (then run it) and AC3 filter source code (then extract on the same folder). | Is this correct? thanks | | "mae" wrote: | | > You could try this as it helps for some with that problem. | > AC3 audio decoder : | > http://ac3filter.net/project/1/releases | > | > (I have not downloaded this as my sound card has the filter.) | > -- | > mae | > | > "alexxchris" <alexxchris@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message | > news:B96A7197-3315-4CBE-A681-B1ACF6303D98@microsoft.com... | > | DVD player - sound adjust to max.
