Auto-Run Options

Here's one for you. When you put in a data CD or DVD, the system looks at the

disc and normally gives you a list of options so that you can choose what you

want the computer to do. Some dork checked the box that says "always do this

option". How do I UNDO this so that computer will continue to ask me what I

want it to do? You would think it would be easy to locate a contol for this

....but I'm tearing my hair out looking! Any suggestions?

Double-click (or go to) My Computer and then right-click on the drive in

question. You'll see an Autoplay tab. Click on it and set your autoplay

options the way you want.

Re: Auto-Run Options

I've already tried that one, both customizing and re-setting for each of my

CD/DVD drives, and it make no difference. Every time I insert (say) a music

CD, instead of having Media Player automatically firing up and playing it,

all I get is the Explorer folder. The same thjing happens with movies, photos

etc. Yikes!

RE: Auto-Run Options

Lets See if it Helps

Start >> Run >>> Regedit >> Navigate to

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

On the Right Pane creatte a New "Dword" Value named

"DontSetAutoplayCheckbox" >> Set its Value as 1
