If there is no software installed which requires .NET Framework, you do not need *any* version. -- d-d
Guest Gary S. Terhune Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 Re: .net framework question While Detlev is technically correct, I find it easier to install all .Net frameworks (1.1, 2 and 3), just in case some app I try needs it. Better than taking another hour to stop everything else I'm doing an install the needed Framework. Note that .Net apps use Frameworks 1.1, 2 or 3 (or, perhaps more than one.) If an app requires 1.1, having 3 installed will not help (and vice versa, of course.) The later versions do not replace the earlier ones. -- Gary S. Guest AJR Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 Re: .net framework question Dennis - .Net framework is required and you may have several versions installed. An application that requires say V1 may not function with V2. and vice versa - for that reason you will note that instaing a "new" version does not delete the older version "Dennis" <dennis@home.net> wrote in message news:CQ0yi.11891$q_5.10722@newsfe24.lga... >I have Widows XP SP2 and IE7. Guest Poprivet Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 Re: .net framework question That's crap: It's not requied unless an app you run needs it. Nothing the OP mentioned indicated a need for it. Pop` AJR wrote: > Dennis - .Net framework is required and you may have several versions > installed.
