Guest Shelly Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 I have tried to download and install the subject tool several times. Each time win update indicates installation was successful. Yet, KB 890830 keeps showing up as uninstalled on the win update critical page. Suggestions welcomed. tia. Have a nice day.

Then temporarily disable the installed antivirus program from *any* real-time monitoring of the system. Consult the Help file or the manufacturer's web site to learn how do accomplish this. Next, run Windows-KB890830-V1.32.exe That *should* get the MRT installed and initiate a Quick scan of the system *REMEMBER* to REENABLE the installed AV afterwards.
