USB Jump Drive

Recommended Posts

I have a Gateway Performance 500 computer about 8 years old and using ME .

I would like to start using a Jump memory drive (I don’t know the mfg.)

After I installed the Jump memory drive and restarted the computer, I got a

message that said “cmdnist caused an error in user.exe.” I found the USB

disk and clicked on update driver, but I don’t know what to enter. I would

like to find a new driver (free, I hope) that I could use. I would

appreciate any help I can get?

Thanks

Re: USB Jump Drive

IIRC, I don't think that can work (could be wrong, usually am). I was

wanting to do that with an ATA Flash card. I think the problem comes from

the USB drivers not being loaded yet when the system is trying to read. As

I said, I am probably wrong, but, I do remember the Flash card thing

wouldn't work and I would think the jump drive would encounter the same

problems.

Re: USB Jump Drive

It is reminding me of the camera stuff that happens with WinME, but of

course I can't check it. Mike will know what I think I am talking about

(G).

Stuff in a CAB File.

And I am too tired to think as well......hope you are not going to get

lambasted by Dean. It sure hit Kingston, Jamaica and I assume Ron's

elderly cousin is OK. Pretty solid house up in the hills in Kingston.

Night.....Figgs
