Guest Luigi Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 When Windows does an automatic update and automatically reboots, is there a way to prevent the pc from rebooting? I would prefer to do it manually. Louie

What I do is wait until the following weekend to make sure that Redmond isn't trying to force feed us another flavor of WGA disguised as a "critical" update and that there are no updates that cause problems and then I *manually* go to Windows Update and *manually* download them and install them and do whatever reboot the updates require and I have never had a problem with updates since Win95. -- Alias To email me, remove shoes

I would prefer to do it manually. While I'm not a fan of auto updates. I do believe it has to reboot so the modified registry can load into ram for use. -- http://www.bootdisk.com/
