Guest Ramesh Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 HI, I use an HP Laserjet printer on WinXP Prof. When i fire a print job, i can see the job in the queue but it does not print. The only way i found to print that job, is to restart the system. When the system reboots and i log on, then the job gets printed. what could be the problem? Now the strange thing is that sometimes it prints fine without a restart. Thanks for any support. Ramesh
Guest Newbie Coder Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Re: Printing spool problem Ramesh, When it doesn't print is the PRINT SPOOLER service running? START | RUN | Type 'services.msc' (without quotes) & press ENTER Is the sevice set to Automatic/Started? Instead of rebooting you can right-click the Print Spooler service & RESTART it. Have you uninstalled, rebooted & re-installed the printer? Is the printer driver using the correct port? Update driver may also solve the issue too -- Newbie Coder (It's just a name) "Ramesh" <ramesh2020@gmaildotcom> wrote in message news:u$xaQcu4HHA.4584@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > HI, > > I use an HP Laserjet printer on WinXP Prof. When i fire a print job, i can > see the job in the queue but it does not print.
