Guest spamsucks@tiscali.co.uk Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Hi For some time now (a couple of months) one of my PCs has been intermittently losing it's ability to resolve DNS names. I have 3 other machines on the same network all configured to use my wireless router as primary DNS server and they are working faultlessly so I'm (reasonably) confident it is an issue with the PC and not my router or ISP. I can work around the problem by restarting the DNS Client Service and the inconvenience is not enough to merit a rebuild just now but I would like to try and understand what is causing the problem in the first place. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what might be wrong or steps I could take to try and narrow it down? The PC is a ThinkPad T23 with a NetGear WG511 wireless card, XP SP2 + all MS updates, AVG antivirus, Zone Alarm personal firewall and MS Windows Defender. Any help appreciated.
