Guest Dan Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 We have Windows Small Business Server that has Remote Desktop enabled. Up until today we were able to have 2 people connection via RDP + 1 console user at the same time which is normal for a Windows 2003 server. This morning I wasnt able to connect at all. I uninstalled Terminal Server licensing from add/Remove Windows components, reboot and then was able to connect from outside of the office, but was unable to connect using RDP from a client computer on the internal network... which is wierd. Also I am unable to have 2 simutanous connection, I was able to connect from 3 different external sites to the server, but only one at a time. This is all very confusing and the even viewer doesnt provide me with anything to go on. Can someone help me out please.
Guest Jeff Pitsch Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Re: Only 1 user can connect with Remote Desktop TS licensing has no bearing on this because SBS does not support application mode terminal services. In fact, those connections you speak of are licensed only for administrative purposes only. beyond that, what are the users seeing as an error when they try to connect. Guest Dan Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Re: Only 1 user can connect with Remote Desktop I get the following error. The client could not establish a connection to the remote computer The most likely causes for this error are: 1) Remote connection might not be enabled at the remote computer: 2) The maximum number of connections was exceeder at the remote computer. 3) A network error occurred while establishing the connection Now. 1. This is enabled, I have enabled this on over 20 server using GPOs. Today I disabled the GPO and applied the setting manually, which didnt seem to make a difference. 2. While I was connected I checked teh Terminal Service Manager snapin and could only see myself logged in, but it would still not allow other logins. 3. Not sure what this could mean. but I can connect from over the Internet, through the Firewall, but not from local machines on the network.
