Keep in mind that you should only have one antivirus program

running in the background. The same goes if you install a

firewall program to obtain additional protection than that

offered through XP's firewall. Note: You should have more than

one antispyware program installed.

Free antivirus programs

AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 7.5

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff

Free antivirus - avast! 4 Home Edition

http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Free personal firewalls

Zone Alarm

Comodo Free Firewall

Free antispyware programs

Ad-Aware 2007 Free

SUPERAntiSpyware

http://www.superantispyware.com/

Spybot Search and Destroy

SpywareBlaster 3.5.1

Good luck

Avast4 or Anvira AntiVir. I no longer recommend AVG Anti-Virus.

There are many free downloadable virus programs, and I strongly recommend

installing any of them!

Instead I recommend tat you download and install a free *anti*-virus

program. ;-)

I recommend the free Avast!, but there are other good choices.

You also need at least two Anti-spyware programs. I recommend Spybot search

and Destroy, Spyware Blaster, and Adaware.

Getting rid of Norton Internet Security is a good move. It's probably the

worst possible choice.
