Guest Jeff Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 On my other 2003 Terminal servers this link works: \\servername\...\Online_Manuals.CHM::/UGAP30.pdf This opens this pdf in adobe reader without issue. My new terminal server, same OS same everything except for Adobe reader version and IE version, will not open it at all. It has "Done" at the bottom and a blank page. What am I missing? Is there a registry fix or what do I need to do for this to work on my new server. Jeff
Guest Dan Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 RE: CHM question on TS 2003 my guess would be a security issue within IE itself, especially if it is IE 7.0 on Server 2003. Guest Helge Klein Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Re: CHM question on TS 2003 It is indeed a security measure (introduced with a SP or patch by MS) not to allow the execution of CHM files over the network. For details and workarounds please consult the following MS KB articles: You cannot open HTML Help files from Internet Explorer after you install security update 896358 or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B902225&x=15&y=19 You cannot open remote content by using the InfoTech protocol after you install security update 896358, security update 840315, or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B896054&x=15&y=19 MS05-026: A vulnerability in HTML Help could allow remote code execution http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B896358&x=7&y=11 I hope this helps.
