maynardvdm Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Hi Set the jumper to master and make sure the cable is in IDE 1 or 0 on the motherboard(the lowest number on your motherboard) and the harddrive at the end of the cable. Then go into the BIOS and set the Harddrives to Auto and size also to Auto. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. Dalo Harkin Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 It is also a good idea to not have any of the HDD power cables linking through to other devices ie fans - and if you are using a splitter too - take it off some PSU's really struggle to supply the devices with power from the rails if you have a lot of splitters and cables that cross through. sean2390 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Some manuals for Hard Drives say to put the jumper switch to "Cable Select". I've had to do that before in the past and it works. Always make sure that your hard drives have their own dedicated power lead. Quote
